as the title already says:
Can I disable the file lock under nfs?
Reason is quite simple:
I only have one ESX host accessing the storage via NFS. There are simply no other hosts physically, so I would have to work with lock files.
Second (and this is the main reason): The storage is continuously written - permanently about 156kb - although no VM is active.
The unnecessary writing drastically reduces the runtime of the SSDs. I have already used up 6 TB for the unnecessary locking writes on 4 month old SSDs.
