Disable HA response

Firstly, I hope this is the right forum!

I need to do some network maintenance this weekend, and I don't want the ESX cluster to initiate any HA action if they lose connection to the network for a short time. I just want to check that the best (and only?) way of achieving this is to temporarily disable the 'Enable Host Monitoring' option for the cluster in vCenter.

Previously, when I hadn't checked this option and had to do some network changes, the cluster initiated HA, and it took me ages to recover from it.

Thanks

Yes that should do it - or you could set Isolation response for the cluster to leave VMs powered on -

Thanks. My goal is just to leave everything running while I do the network maintenance. If 'isolation response' is something that would enable this, then it sounds ideal.

Would it be best to disable the 'Enable Host Monitoring' option AND set the Host Isolation response to 'Leave Powered on', or is one generally preferred over the other?

Doing both would be overkill =

Thanks again. I think in this case, I'll just go with disabling host monitoring on the cluster, which should keep everything running while I do the work.

I appreciate your time.
