DirectPath IO problem

I have ESXi5.0 running on a dell box with 3 VM's. I have had a LPe12000 running in DirectPath to one VM for a year or two. I am now trying to add a SAS HBA to one of the other VM's, but it does not appear in the list of hardware I can add for the chosen VM, but it does appear in the list of the VM with the LEe12000. Any ideas how to get the card to appear on the correct VM ?

Does the VM hardware version differ?

The one that 'works' is version 8, and not noticing, the one that does not is version 4. There is aversion 7 on the same box, and that does not work either...

Guess I'll fix that first!
