DirectPath I/O: not supported (Intel 3420 chipset)

Hi everyone,

I have a HP Proliant ML110 with Intel 3420 chipset. Intel says the chipset supports VT-d (the CPU Pentium G6950 also supports VT-x, but not sure if VT-d really needs any direct support from the cpu, as the VT-d works at chipset level) and my BIOS has the option to activate VT-d, which I did.

I had installed ESXi 5 with BIOS VT-d option disabled. Later I found that I would need the VT-d option, I enabled it on the BIOS but after restart the ESXi keeps saying "DirectPath I/O: Not supported".

Any ideias?

Any way to force ESXi to recognize it?

Thanks

I reinstalled ESXi and I get the following errors:

IOMMUIntel: 1846: Allocating array domain failed
WARNING: IOMMUIntel: 5081: init failed DMAR
Any ideias?

Have you also enabled ACPI in the BIOS - it looks like you need that too?
