I have a Dell Poweredge 1800 with 2 * 2.8 GHz Xeon processors. I was able to install 5 * 250 GB sata disks and got ESXi 4.0 installed without any issues (only had to set all disks a one single volume).
My QUESTION is : I am not able to install 64 Bit GUEST OS though I can create VM selecting 64 Bit OS Option.
What am I doing wrong?
How can this be achieved?
that system is not on the HCL. Does it have an option for VT (Virtualization Technology) in the bios?
Dell BIOS by default has VT disable.
But your system is quite old, so first check on HCL:

The HCL does show the server:
http://vm-help.com/esx40i/esx40_whitebox_HCL.php
Servers / PCs Storage Controller ESX ESXi Source

Dell PowerEdge 1800 Dell CERC 1.5/6CH SATA RAID Card OK 1
What it doe snot say is if VT is enabled or not and if 64 bit Guest is supported.
These old XEON dogs doesnt support Intel VT. Get a more recent hardware our just install a 32bit Guest OS.
