Delete datastore

Hi,

I have ESX4 and Virtual Center installed. I want to delete a datastore. I have Storage vMotioned all the VM's and disks off the datastore. If I browse the the datastore from the vSphere client it is empty, if I ssh to a Host and navigate to the datastore it is empty. The problem is that when I want to delete the datastore I get the error that it is in use. Is there anyway to find out what is using the datastore?

Thanks,

Often issues like this are related to the virtual CD-ROM drive pointing to an ISO file (which obviously does not exist on the datastore anymore)

I'd suggest you use e.g. RVTools (http://www.robware.net/) to see whether this is the case and set the VM's CD-ROM drive to the Client Drive in such a case.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a go and see what happens.

Hi,

I have run the tool and none of the VM's are using the datastore in question.

Cheers,
