Deduplication or CBT / Both in Snapshot

Is there anyone who can tell me what is used in the snapshot deduplication or cbt / Both????????

During a backup the delta file are not used (they contain the current state). But if you use incremental backup CBT is use to find which block have to be copied.

I am not talking here about backup i want to knwo about the snapshots of the VM.

A snap does not use CBT... only when you consolidate it changed blocks are updated.

If you are not have any special dedup programm like vdr or 3rd party tools, vmware itselfs do not use dedup while creating a snap.

What is meaning of this line that the snapshots contains the changed blocks only that is written in the official courseware.
