Dedicated NIC for VM?

I am running an ESXi 4.1 server with 3 NIC's.  I'd like to setup one of the NICs to route directly to my firewall VM, which is the hand off from my ISP.  The ESXi is currently setup as shown below, but I haven't tried this yet, as doing so will take me off-line if it isn't correct.  What is the best way to go about this?  Am I on the right track?

Hand of from my ISP is a Dynamic connection.  Currently the VMKernel Port associated with vSwitch1 is DHCP, but I'm not sure that's correct; because I want the VM to pull DHCP and not the mangement port.

Thanks in advance.

Well with the lack of a response I decided to just play, as I couldn't be that far off.  Here is the configuration that is working:

That's the way to go about it, you figured it out yourself.

I use the same setup with the firewall VM having two NICS (one on the internet vswitch and one on the local lab vswitch) and running NAT on it to offer internet to the other systems.

Works like a charm 🙂
