Datastore only Showing Half of Disk Space

Hello,

I added two 1TB drives to the server. It is an HP Gen 9. The Smart Provisioning saw the two drives, and created a new RAID for them.

But VMWare only shows half as being available as a datastore.

The original six drives show up just fine.

ESXI version 6.0. Anybody have any ideas?

I think HP Intelligent Provisioning will configure it as a Mirrored volume so only 1 disk capacity will be available.

VCP6-DCV, VCP5, CCNA, MCTS 2008R2, MCSA 2008R2, CCA, ITIL. Please mark answer helpful or correct as appropriate.

The Smart Provisioning saw the two drives, and created a new RAID for them.

Assuming that the two 1TB drives are in a RAID 1 set, the 931GB is the expected available storage size.

RAID 1 is a mirroring of disks, hence half the capacity.

Thanks, everyone for your quick replies. I am going to see how to configure the "Smart Provisioning" so it doesn't mirror.
