Datastore on an USB Device

Hello,

I had a dream of my home server, now i have bought a server and have my first problem.

My Hardware:

HP ML110 G7

I hoped that it would be possible to install esxi 5 on an sd card (which works fine) and store the data of one vm on the sd card or on an usb drive (which isnt possible)

Is there a way to use it as i described it?

Welcome to the Community,

unfortunately not. VMware doesn't support VMFS partitions on USB/SD devices.

Yes, USB/SD is only supported as a boot device.
