Datastore often becomes inaccessable

I've found that my NFS shared storage datastore often becomes inaccessible for a minute and then comes back. Is there a log I can see what is causing it? Mind you I can remote into it while its showing inaccessible in VSphere. I'm wondering if this is causing issues with me restoring tib files back to it using Vmware converter.

The vmkernel log will have much information about the details on what is happening. Also, a lot of kbs are there on troubleshooting the NAS mount frequent disconnects.

Can you provide a bit more details on the esxi version and the NAS details ?

I'm using a Buffalo Windows Server 2008 R2 8 TB storage server. It has a NIC with two ports but I only have one enabled at this time. I would enable the second one but don't have a NIC teaming software that would allow me to increase the throughput and I'm pretty sure 2008 rt doesn't provide that capability. It is on the same LAN as my VCenter server and they are both connected to the same switch. I'm running esxi 5.1 with two hosts. They are also both on the same LAN and switch
