Datastore full and I can't copy the VM files to another DataStore

Datastore full and I can't copy the VM files to another DataStore

Vmware ESXI 6.7.0 Update 3 (Build 14320388)

There is no more space for virtual disk 'SrvW2012-000001.vmdk'.
You might be able to continue this session by freeing disk space on the relevant volume,
and clicking Retry. Click Cancel to terminate this session.

I don't Have space to this datastore neither space to increase the datastore Space Size

BuT I have another Datastore with a lot of space
I need to Copy the datastore to the another datastore

Buit I got errors whne Try to copy because the VM with full disk is in use or locked.
I tried to shutdown the VM - I does not allow me - I rebooted the host - same problem continues
to start the VM and to copy the CM to the another datastore:

cp: can't open 'SrvW2012-000001-sesparse.vmdk': Device or resource busy
cp: can't open 'SrvW2012-464531db.vswp': Device or resource busy

Solved:

Hi ,

I clicked CANCEL in the message "There is no more space for virtual disk 'SrvW2012-000001.vmdk'.
You might be able to continue this session by freeing disk space on the relevant volume,
and clicking Retry. Click Cancel to terminate this session."

Then VM stopped and I copied to a bigger datastore.

Thank you.

the easiest thing to do is power-off VMs, this will remove the swap files and should free up space. If that doesn't free up sufficient space I would manually delete some of the log files.

If you dont get past that point or get messages that files are locked .... let me know. In that case it is time to switch to Linux: less convenient but reliable ....
