Running ESXi 5.1.0 with local storage and had some VMs crash. Found one of the Datastores was missing. Rebooted ESXi and the Datastore is still missing and the VMs show up as "Unknown (inaccessible)" etc.
If I try and Add Storage, it sees a Local Disk but says the Partition Format is Unknown and the hard disk is blank.
How can I troubleshoot this?
HI,
Can you attach hostd and vmkernel log please.
Thank you.
Regards,
Julien
Also, when I try and Add Storage - it sees the Local Disk, but has no VMFS Label. It is the mpx.vmhba1:C0:T1:L0 Disk.

First thing to do is to fix / r3estore the partitiontable with partedutil.
If that does not help - read the volume with vmfs-fuse from a Linux LiveCD
Would this command restore it?
partedUtil setptbl "/vmfs/devices/disks/mpx.vmhba1:C0:T1:L0" gpt "1 2048 716531130 AA31E02A400F11DB9590000C2911D1B8"
Continuum, is that the correct command?
Hi
