Datastore & Harddisk becomes unavailable after few hours

I recenttly changed to an Dell PERC 6/i RAID-Controller, because it is on the HCL.

Attached is at the Moment 1 WD 1.5TB drive.

After boot, ESXi 5.1U1 sees the Controller and also the attached drive. I then can use  it as a datastore  - anything fine.

After longer time - hours I guess, the datastore  on this specific HD disappears. Also the drive listed under the PERC Controller is grayed and the Name of the drive is in cursive text.

What can I do ?

Have a look in the vmkernel and vmkwarning log files.

You can also check firmware and driver for that card.

Okay, it happended again.

Trying to migrate a VM from one datastore SAMSUNG_502GB to another (Seagate 1 TB attached to the Dell PERC) the Job stopped with error after about 25GB.

Now, the PERC attached drive is grayed out, the VM on it is no more accessible and the log is flooded with Messages about connectivity Problems with the SAMSUNG (attached tio a norrmal SATA-Controller Ibex Peak) and the PERC attached (named naa.something)

Additional info:

At first I was using ONLY the on-board SATA (Ibex Peak).

There, I also mentioned Problems.

Especially, I had the same effect as on the PERC with 2 HD with capacity 1TB and 1.5TB (Seagate Constellation 1TB and WD green 1.5TB)

The drives itself seem to be okay.

The reason of purchasing the PERC was to get rid of These Problems as somebody told me, the Ibex Peak Controller is the reason for the Errors and is unsupported.

The Mainboard is a GA-H55M-USB3 with a i5-680 CPU and vt-d enabled.

The ESXi itself is on a USB-Stick.
