Hi, I'm in the middle of my first big project with vmware, I've installed two Ibm x5 hosts with essential plus licenses, these are connected to a Netapp SAN through ISCSI, I've configured the datastores and have connected them in VSphere. My question is, for VMHA, I cannot use VSphere to manage the hosts, do I need to use vCenter for this? do I then just point vsphere to the vcenter IP to be able to view and configure VMHA? I've licensed both hosts and VMHA is a licensed feature.
Do I need to use vCenter or can I just use a differnet client other than VSphere to manage these hosts as a "datacenter"....at present I have to connect to each host individually.
thanks
Correct, instead of connecting to the hosts, you would connect your vSphere Client to vCenter. vCenter is required for HA to function.

thanks for confirming!
Will be going through this on Monday with some confidence now.
