DataStore does not came back after FC port disconnection

Hi every one,

We are having some problems with our new infrastructure, we have 3 HPE DL380 Gen9 direct attach to an EMC Unity300, 3 servers were installed with the Customized HPE ISO (6.0 U2) downloaded from VMware.com. We also tried with the non customized ISO version but the same result. We are using one Emulex SN1100E 16Gb Dual Port FC HBA.

The problem is that when one of the FC cables is disconnected and reconnected again we can not see the luns until the server is rebooted. We tried with two single port Qlogic 4Gb HBA and everything works fine, I hace tried with different drivers and firmwares but the problem persist.

I look at the compatibility matrix at EMC looking for the correct firmware and driver for the HBA But I have not found, does any one can help me with the compatibility matrix?

Thanks

Can you confirm the version of driver you're using ? Based on the following, there are some known issues if with version 10.2.298.12 or older, see: http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c04479474

And the following link shows the latest driver versions: VMware Compatibility Guide - I/O Device Search

Hi Richardson,

I have tried with different drivers and firmware but every thing is the same, also I find this vmware KB ESXi 5.5/6.0 hosts running Emulex HBAs become unresponsive in vCenter Server during periods of high ... and tried with a newer driver, I think there should be a compatibility problem with this HBA and direct attach to host, I have not done any test with a fibre channel switch, maybe today at afternoon I will connect one FC switch.

Additionally I find at the HP SPOCK a note with this HBA telling that they are not supported in direct attach at 16Gbps and I want to find the EMC compatibility matrix to see if they have the same note.
