Hi , Is DRS affinity and anti-affinity rules are mandantory while creating a microsoft cluster over VM?
its better to create.. while creating cluster and you shared disk with both VMs ..if you have selected shared across physical hosts then its not mandatory i think.

One more thing I would like to know how can we map the physical cores vs vcpus in a vm?
If I have a 2 x 8 cores of physical cpus than what is the maximum number of vms can I create ?
