Customization Specification doesn't work

Env:

vSpehere 5.1.  hosts are esxi 5.1

Windows 2008 R2 SP1 with all updates to Nov 2012

When I click deploy VM from this template and choose a customization spec i created a few weeks back it doesn't work.
A new SID is generated, the NIC seems to take the Static IP and info but it does not activate windows and it does not join the domain as I specified in the customization.

This used to work with this specification. 

Thoughts?

Windows will only be activated if it connects to a KMS server or if you manually enter a MAK key afterwards. The OS product key option in the Windows customization specifications only applies to Windows <2008.

For your domain join issue, check the customization logs and make sure you supply the domain credentials in the format user@domainFQDN, since using the NetBIOS format won't work:

Cool, btw. you can also avoid manually entering the MAK key after deployment by using a RunOnce command in the customization specification:
