Creation of guest VM using vSphere Auto Deploy

Hi All,

I want to automate the creation of VM and taking a snapshot of it. I want to create VM every day and need to take a snapshot after performing some operations.

I was reading a topic “vSphere Auto Deploy” and a query on it.

Using “vSphere Auto Deploy” whether I can automate the creation of VM or this is used only for automatic the creation of ESXi box.

Please suggest me some way for automatic the creating of VM.

Regards,

Kalai

This is only used for installing ESXi hosts. If you want to do this with VM's you will have to work with templates and tools like PowerCLI or SDK for Perl.

Thanks..

Will “vCenter Orchestrator” help me in this work, since we have vCenter configuration in our lab.

If you want to work with workflows you could use it. I suggest reading up on vCenter Orchestrator (http://www.vmware.com/products/vcenter-orchestrator/overview.html) if you want to use it. This has nothing to do with installing VM's tho Smiley Happy
