Create local datastore cluster from different ESXi servers and use it for one VM to create NFS server

I would like to create a NFS server with all local disks from different ESXi servers.

To create this NFS server I am doing below steps.

1. I have 4 ESXi 5.5 servers.

2. I have created it's datastore cluster (POD).

3. I have created a VM from ESXi cluster view. Because of cluster, VM is created on one of the ESXi server.

Problem statement:

Now if I edit VM settings for adding extra disk then I can see the local disk of ESXi server where VM is created. I can't see the POD or other servers local disk.

Question:

I think using vSAN I can do this task but I don't have SSD drives. So need workaround for our QA and DEV environment.

You need shared data stores to add the POD cluster data store that you created. If you only have local drives then then you can not have data store cluster unless you use vSAN.

>> Are you using iSCSi?

All are local datastores from each ESXi servers.

>> You need to add the POD datastore that you created to your ESXi host

Could you please elaborate your suggestion.
