Create a new VM from old VM

Hi!

We are running windows 2003 VM on Esxi 5.1 environment. We have VMware vSphere Essentials Plus Bundle.

We are running some application on this VM which we have to keep for business needs. Also this server is running Domain controller services and we want to decommission the AD services.

Is it possible to create new VM out of this VM with new name but we want to keep the same MAC address. Power it on the new VM with new name so that it will not act as Domain controller?

Thanks

Why not just removed the AD services from the existing VM with dcpromo?

We want to be sure that everything works if we shutdown the server for 2 weeks in terms of AD. This server contains some old settings for AD that some linux auth relies on that. Even though its not FSMO we just want to be sure that nothing breaks.

As we have to shut it down our other application needs to be running all the time so thats why we want to move it to clone of this server but its also and old application and the upgrade of this application is not available for new OS.
