Copy from one esxi host to a remote esxi host

Hi gurus

I hope that at least one of you have done this before.

I need to decom an ESXi standalone host, but this host house 2 VM, one of them is a SQL server, we do have veeam but we dont have the windows agent for the SQL VM, so that is out the window, I was hoping to be possible to copy from one ESXi host to another using SSH command or SFTP or some kind of FTP process.

any help is appreciated

Thanks a bunch

Ciao

The VMs moving is It possible to do it with the machines turned off?

I am not clear about the Veeam question... if you have Veeam Backup & Replication you can use Veeam replication.

Otherwise, there is the VMware Converter to move the VMs.

Otherwise, you can use SSH using SCP:
Remove the VM from the source node's inventory, copy the VM folder with SCP command (obviously you must have opened the ssh server and client protocol on both ESXi nodes) and then perform the inventory on the new node

What worked for me a couple of times in the past is https://williamlam.com/2012/06/how-to-copy-vms-directly-between-esxi.html
