Copy and Paste problem between the esxi 4.1 guest and vsphere 5.0 client host

We have the licensed ESXi 4.1 with vcenter server.  There are some free Esxi-hypervisor 4.1 in our network.  Three weeks ago a ESXi hypervisor 5.0 host was installed.  When I tried to access the new host, my vSphere 4.1 client complained it needs an update.  Ever since that update, I am unable to copy and paste between the ESXi 4.1 guests and my windows 7 workstation running the vSphere client.  The copy and paste worked fine prior to the client upgrade. Each ESXi 4.1's config file (/etc/vmware/config) have the following two lines:

  • isolation.tools.copy.disable    false
  • isolation.tools.paste.disable   false

I googled for sometimes but everyone suggests adding the two lines above to either the config or vmx file.  Your input is greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Have you tried to reinstall your vSphere Client?

Are you able to use copy and paste with a fresh installed vSphere Client?

Uninstall and reinstall weren't any help.

However, I found that I can open a text file with the notepad and copy/paste the contents without any problem.  The problem is with copying the entire file by just right clicking on it and trying to paste it on another VM or vpshere host.
