There has to be a way, and it's probably pretty easy, but how can I copy text from my workstation and paste it into a vm in vSphere? I'm kind of tired of copy and pasting into a text document and then having to open that on the vm and thought there has to be an easier way. We're on 5.5.
It is disabled by default, but you can enable it: VMware KB: Clipboard Copy and Paste does not work in vSphere Client 4.1 and later
Should work on 5.5.
Hey there, to my knowledge direct copy paste from/to client to VM console is not available for enhanced security of VM which is good in many ways. You have to rely on network copy only or any other means. We can see if there is any workaround from other folks.

Great, thank you. I will give that a shot.
Would anybody have an idea why when I enable c&p in a template
then clone the template, the enabling is lost???
