Use SCP or FastSCP or datastore browser to copy the entire folder.

Then register the vmx to the inventory and answer I_copied when you power-on the VM.

Hi

i did copy the entire folder to the new Datastore2, then shutdown the source (from Datastore1)

Then  created new VM   pointing to the folder that was copied, and during the Setup i picked the existing Disk with the same name of the Datastore1, but now located on Datastore2

Two issues:

1)  does not ask anything regarding Identifier , if i understood you correctly, when opening the new created Vm from the copy folder,  should have asked

2)   When i right click the VM on the inventory, -> Snapshot -> Snapshot Manager

on the old VM  i see all Snapshots, on the new Vm i  Don't see

Thanks

You must right click on the vmx file and choose add to inventory.
