Copy & Paste Issues In ESXi 5.0.0

Hello,

We have enabled copy and paste through the VM's using the KB described (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102643...) and it has worked decently, but for the last 6 months there seem to be problem with it keeping the clipboard items when multiple users are connect to VM's within the same server.

We've seen issues with users pasting text that another user has copied, issues with the text being pasted three times from a single copy and paste (what we're referring to as triplicate pastes) and other funky issues where copy/paste stops working all together.

We have three separate servers running ESXi 5.0.0, and it is an issue on all three of them. Previously we had used version ESX 4.1 and had hoped with the upgrade that this issue would be resolved. All of the latest patches for 5.0.0 are installed. We are considering updating to 5.1.0, but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas to what the issue might be, or how this problem may be happening and how we can stop it.

All of the users are logging into the servers from their individual desktop computers within our office and sometimes share VM's (one person later using a VM that another employee was using earlier in the day), so we need to continue to have shared access to every VM. All of the VM's are using the same login credentials. Some of the VM's are Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 and we've seen this issue across all OS platforms, so it appears to be something with VMWare.

How can we stabilize the clipboard and fix these issues? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! Smiley Happy

- Matt
