Hi,

Is there anyone tried to convert Novell 6.5 (NDS) to a VM??

I looked on Internet but couldn't find any information.

I assume youre talking about Netware OS?

I think there is no easy way to convert physical Netware servers to virtual servers.

You should create a new virtual Netware server and then migrate your old server to that using free "NetWare Migration Wizard". This is pretty easy and supported way of virtualizing old Netware servers if it really has to be done.

in 2008 I was involved in a VMware Project based on VI3.5.

On of the goal of the project was P2V Novell Netware Server. We used Portlock software ()

Is was not a linear task: we had problem with HAL, and NICs, minor problem with SCSI.

At last we were able to run the VM but performances were not so huge compared the physical SMP server.
