Console into vm machine with ESXI

Hi. I am fairly new with ESXI. Is there a way that I can console into my VM machines instead of using the client? I need to access my vm from the actual machine, since I do not have another one to run the client from.

Thanks

Hi Denric,

Welcome to the forums.

You can't access your VM console directly from the ESXi console. You have to connect from another machine using the VI Client to configure and install your VM.

Hope it helps.

Hi,

As per franck's suggestion you need to access the VMs in ESXi via vSphere client initially and once you setup TCP/IP and remote connections in your VM then you can access your VMs directly via remote desktop.

One question that came up in my mind - you said you do not have other computer to install vSphere client but then how will you access your VMs from which console as you need a computer on the same network to access your VMs either via vSphere client or remotely.

Hope this information is useful
