Connectivity issue between Esxi and VMs

Dear Techies,

I am facing some problem while implementing Vmware started Kit, we are facing Network connectivity issue between virtual and physical Esxi host.
One thing i noticesd that my Exsi host supports Direct Path I/O but the Virtual servers deployed on Esxi host does not !! , and also my virtual servers are able to access Gateway, Dns and LAN but it gives huge latency and RTO while pinging the exhi host on which they were deploy on.
Due to this network issue i am unable to add Esxi host (Physical) and V manager server (Virtual) to my Vcenter Server (Virtual).
Please let me know what might be wrong Smiley Sad
Following are the configuration of my Servers:
ESXi Host Server Hardware configuration :-
Model- HP ML 350 G6
RAM- 16 GB
Processor- 2 Quad core.
HDD-  2 TB capacity each = total  6 HDD installed.
NIC - 02  (We are using just one NIC for VM and Management Network)
OS- ESXI 5.0 Ver.
Vcenter Server Hardware configuration (Virtual):-
RAM-  4 GB
Processor- 1 Socket 2 cores.
HDD-  200 GB
VM Version 8
O/S: Windows 2008 R2 Std. 64 bit
Vmanager Server Hardware configuration (Virtual):-
RAM-  4 GB
Processor- 1 Socket 2 cores.
HDD-  200 GB
VM Version 8
O/S: Windows 2008 R2 Std. 64 bit

Still no cure Smiley Sad

  • I am able to connect Esxi host directly through Vsphere client.
  • When i connect to Vcenter server through Vsphere client it says exsi host disconnected (screen shot added)
  • When i try to reconnect or add the host again it gives error. (screen shot added)
  • In View admin it says 2 services down esxi host and datastore (screen shot added)

But one strange thing happened  I AM STILL ABLE TO ACCES MY WINDOWS 7 VM THROUGH VIEW CLIENT !!

I don't know what is happening Smiley Sad

Help me out:smileycry:

How can i check the firmware version of the NIC on my esxi host? I tried to find it in BIOS but no luck.

I have just checked the Driver version that is latest and all my VMs are using VMXNET3.

Inside of the vSphere Client go under configuration for your ESXi server.  Select health status and the expand software componets.  The firmware for the selected hardware devices should be listed there.

Aktal.. as per your second screenshot, you are able to connect your host. Are you facing network issue intermittenetly ? did you restarted your management network on ESXI?

yes, network issue is intermittenet. But i found a workaround, it starts working when i disconnect the uplink for 1- 15 seconds from my network switch.
