Connecting to ESX VM Serial Console from Physical Remote Station

Hi there,

I've problem with connecting to one of my VMs on ESX v4.0.0 through Named Pipe.

Here below is the procedure that I followed to get this job done:

1. Create and configure the vm

2. Set the serial connection to Named Pipe ( with Pipe Name: vmcom )

3. Set the Near End to: Server

4. Set the Far End to: A Process

5. Power On the VM

6. Trying to connect to named pipe with " Named Pipe TCP Proxy" software from my Win 7 PC

but there is no connection gets established, and NPTP stucks on "Attaching Phase" of connection establishment.

Thank you in advance for any kind of helps.

Regards

Hi there,

I've searched all through the web, I just found nothing toi do that in ESX v4.x. All of topics focused on VM-to-VM inside ESX Platform.

I doubt that ESX can do this.

I'm looking forward to hear from you just in case.

Regards.

I also think that is not possibile... usually is between VMs.

Maybe you can use a Linux VM to convert the serial to network protocols.
