Connect to an ESX 4.1 Host by vSphere Server 4.0

Hello,

is it possible to connect with the vSphere Server Version 4.0 to an ESX 4.1 Host and is it also manageable.
The Host is currently running 4.0 update 3 and is connected with the vSphere Server.
I don't want to upgrade the vSphere Server to 4.1 because it needs x64.

I want to upgrade the host with esxupdate.

Thanks for the help.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

No, this is documented in kb 1024381.

You could always run vCenter 4.1 in a 64-bit guest VM.  This is a supported configuration.

Good Luck!
