Dear Team,
can someone please help with good comparision between DRS and SDRS.
regards
Mr VMware
Hi Mr,
In what terms do you need the comparison? The underlying technology is same for both features i.e. "To balance". DRS balances the Virtual Machine resource (CPU/RAM/Placement) loads across the cluster.
And SDRS does the same thing for Virtual Machine storage disks accross the datastores. I really doubt there is specific chart available to compare both of them.
Below blog links have a good explanation about DRS and SDRS

An introduction to Storage DRS
Jut to add to what the guys above have already said, DRS balances RAM and CPU resources and SDRS does the same with storage using both capacity and latency as it's metrics.
With DRS, you can set an automation level (Manual, Partial or Fully Automated) for the cluster and override this on a per VM basis. You also have the ability to create affinity rules to keep VM's together/apart etc. If you have a test environment or lab, then configure this and click through all the settings to see what's possible ... there is always the documentation to refer to as well ![]()
Cheers,
Jon
