Hey guys
is it possible to sync/backup Restore 1 complete Configuration of an ESXi Host to another?
My Setup is a Cluster infrastructure with 3 ESXi Hosts and i do not ant to forget some settings so i want that all 3 Hosts have the same config
Is this possible?
tried it at the commandline with the backup and restore function but on the restore at the target Host an error occurs because of different UIDS
What's my line to have all 3 Hosts the same config ?
Hi Heko,
Not sure if you tried Host Profiles yet? It can be helpful in your case.
Thanks,
Hi Hekojk,
Does your infrastructure have a vCenter? If so why don't you use Host Profiles?
Hi Hekojk,
A little dated but review this article, and let me know how you go; you will need a functioning vMA.

I'm not a professional but what u guys mean with HostProfiles. Yes i have a vCenter.
Hi,
If you are using vCenter 5.x and ESXi 5.x hosts then the best way to get your hosts have the uniform configuration is to use Host profiles .
Advantages of host profiles:
Configuration settings that are shared by a group of VMware vSphere hosts are stored in a host profile. Once the host profile has been created, it can be attached to one or more vSphere hosts or clusters. Once attached, the host configuration is compared against the host profile and any deviations are reported. Administrators associate host profiles with other hosts and clusters, ensuring consistency. Any drift in configurations can be corrected automatically.
HOPE This one helps you!

Hi Hekojk,
Here is some additional information.

Host profile is the best option however as the feature is available only with enterprise plus , and hence apart from backup and restore using vcli , then I guess you have to do a manual config.
