We have several ESX 4 hosts (enterprise license) configured for HA and DRS. We are considering placing an ESX 4 host (standard license) in this cluster. We would have to rebuild our resource pools and remove DRS in order to move this host into the cluster. Then rebuild once the switch is made.
Are there any best practices for integrating two or more ESX 4 hosts in a cluster having mixed licensing? I am looking at the pros/cons given we have several Citrix Presentation Servers and I have gotten varying suggestions on whether we would benefit from mixed licensed hosts in a cluster that requires HA.
