Changing Host Name

I am trying to change the domain for my hosts. I have changed the domain in the host properties and it does reflect the change in the configuration and directly on the host, however the host name in vCenter does not reflect the change. I know I can fix this by removing the host and re-adding it, but this will remove my scheduled tasks. How can I change the name without losing my scheduled task

I think removing it and adding it back is the only way to change within vCenter.

Even if we change from Command Line we have to Remove it from the Vcenter

to reflect the new name in vcenter we must disconnect the host and connect it with the new FQDN. there is no way which we can rename the host from vCenter Server.
