Changed Nexus 1000v licensing

Hello mates!

We've got VMWare infrastrucure which is consist of 6 ESX systems (version 5.1) distributed among several datacenters. Currently it's confugured with standart switches but we consider transition to DVS. Cisco Nexus 1000v solution is very attractive. But I've heard that recently Cisco changed their license program. We have Enterprise Plus license is our vmware deplyment. Can we still use essentials license of nexus 1000v? What is the latest version of Nexus switch which we can use inside our ESX system?

Thanks!

Hi Ivan,

I think the follow link will help:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/nexus-1000v-switch-vmware-vsphere/qa_c67-7...

"Q: What version of VMware vSphere is needed for the Cisco Nexus 1000V Essential and Advanced Editions?

A. Both editions require the VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus edition. They are compatible with VMware vSphere Versions 4.0, 4.1, 5.0, and 5.1. "
