Found a ESX cluster with ESX hosts physical nic not connected between the stacked physical switches. vSwitch0 connect 2x vmnic connected to physical Switch1 and vSwitch1 2x vmnic connected to Switch2. I want to change the connected (split between switches) without impact to the running VMs. I'm thinking of setting one vmnic to standby in the ESX host, then move the cable to another switch, then change it back to active. Repeat till all vmnic are split between the physical switches. Question I have is, will there be impact to the VMs during this change, example packets drop when I switch one of the vmnic from active to standby?
Currently it is "Route based on originating virtual port".
