    hi guys

We found a pretty slow Windows 2008 R2 VM and we found that the SCSI controller used is LSI Logic Parallel how can we change it to LSI Logic SAS and have the Windows 2008 booting OK?

    thanks a lot

I've written an article on how to do this here: http://wahlnetwork.com/2011/12/20/how-to-change-scsi-controller-type-on-a-vmware-vm/

In your case, it is the opposite, but the instructions work the same (just go from Parallel to SAS instead).

    I  think I know guys

I have to add another disk in another SCSI controller like SCSI 1:0 or 2:0 .... that will create a new SCSI Controller so in that controller I change the type to any like LSI Logic SAS or paravirtualized once that is done I let the VM recongnize the new disk which means a new driver....

once that is done and Windows recognizes the new driver for the new type of controller I change the type in my original SCSI controller to LSI Logic SAS powered on the machine and that will do it.

I am adding the steps in a word doc

    I hope is useful

Excellent work around, tested and verified in my production environment.
