Change IP address of ESX 4 from VSphere Client

Hi there.

I initially set the static ip address of our esx 4 (production) server during the installation process. Now I would like to change the ip address to a different one.

I was told I can do the above modification from vsphere client but I could not find the place. Will any of you provide me some instruction or documents so I can take a look?

Thanks very much

Lewis

you will lose connection to it, but if you want to give it a go that's up to you. Go to the Configuration TabNetworkingProperties--IP Settings.

My suggestion again is do this from the console, via some sort of remote connection, not PuTTY, but iLO, DRAC, IMM.... or standing in front of the hardware.

Changing it from the VIC will result in a lost connection anyway.
