I have a large datastore that is using up the entirety of a disk. I have VMs on the single partition.
When I did this, I didn't realize I needed to create a coredump diagnostic partition. I'd like to know if I can carve out 100MB equivalent of so many sectors at the end of the partition and then use that area to create a coredump partition?
FWIW:
~ # partedUtil get "/vmfs/devices/disks/naa.6c81f660ef0d23001ae6c4b507873c57"
364456 255 63 5854986240
1 2048 5854986206 0 0
I'm aware of the ability to put the coredump on a USB connected disk, but I'd rather keep my USB passthrough option.
I'm happy to entertain other options.
