Cannot power on VM

After turning off 2 Vms cannot turn it back on. All power option from VM are grey out. i get error Another task is in progress and cannot do anything. Please advice

Assuming that you are talking about ESXi, I moved your question from the SDK section over to the ESXi community.

Do you see any running tasks in Manage -> Tasks?
These options may be grayed out in case of e.g. a running snapshot consolidation (which you should not cancel!), or an active backup.

After 2 days the vms powered on automatically. I guess a running job that i could not see was in progress.

Try migrate the powered off VMs to another ESXi host and power them on from there.
