Hi

My boss moved one large drive from one of our servers to a diferent LUN. (Server was powered off)

After this was completed he tried to power on the VM but it didn't work

I have attached the error message that he's getting.

Can anyone HELP

Browse this datastore and check if the VMX file is there. Also, try to download and read it. Check if the icon is a blank small sheet, or is a VM symbol.

I would suggest, if nothing works, to create another VM without disks and attach the disks of this VM to it.

Good luck!

the icon is a VM symbol.

I also notice there's some snapshots disks located in the datastore but not listed in Snapshot Manager

It will be very important at this point to understand everything that is in the VM folder and exactly what happened. Failure to understand and make the correct fixes will result in data loss. Do NOT power on the VM again until the situation is fully understood. Start by posting a screenshot of the datastore showing as much information as possible including file names and sizes.

Hi!

Attempts to retrieve the configuration file of the machine with. Log stored in the same directory, making a dump. This is usually solved by this.

So you should run the procedure:

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102388...
