It's been a while since I've logged in and I need to create a new VM but when I go t the console tab I can only see about 30% of the screen. Going to full screen mode by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Enter gets me the same result. I can't even setup the OS because I cannot see the lower portion of the screen to see Next, or enter the key. What can I check or do?
Also my mouse when I click into the VM (any of them) the tracking is way off.
Did you tried right click the virtual machine and click Open Console?
I'm assuming you tried the "Launch console" button instead of the tab? Then try a "fit vm to screen". You can also see if the webui scales a little better.
Yea I've tried that but it's the same. As for the web client, we're locked out of it at the moment. the creds for vcenter aren't working anymore.
Web client would use the same creds. as the thick client. So whatever user account you are showing in your SS should work also.
Tried them but they do not work. Also tried resetting the SSO sign on using the instructions here via Putty but no luck
I get the new PW, make sure it has no "!" and use the username administrator@vSphere.local and it doesn't work. tried several times.
We have one password. Works for the Vsphere app but not the web client. Going to try restarting the vCenter Appliance
Only way to get it to work for now at least is to connect to the vcenter server appliance from vmware workstation on my pc. Good enough for now but must get that fixed next week too
Rebooting the Vcenter virtual appliance let me log back in. strange but now I had web access
Still cannot select a VM by right clicking and choosing "Open console"
ensure that the port 7343 is open on the system where you are running the vSphere Web Client. vCenter Server 5.5 Update 2 addresses this by using a secure connection over port 7343, instead of a connection over port 7331, when the HTML5 remote console for virtual machines is launched. The issue occurs when port 7343 is blocked on the system where you are running the vSphere Web Client.
Please let me know how you resolved this issue.
It's the Vsphere Appliance, it's not running in Windows
Hello,
I had the same problem and I just found a fix for it. I am running on a Mac with a Retina display under Windows 10. To make things readable, Windows used the maximum resolution of my monitor and then scaled it to 175%. I reduced the resolution and put scaling back to 100% and I can see the screen fully now. Just thought it might help. Thanks,
Duane
