Cannot edit vmware-authd

Hello,

I'm trying to allow my ESXi server to allow AD users to login to the ESX host.  I'm following this guide here: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/esx_authentication_AD.pdf on page 6 of Active Directory and Kerberos, there's a section instructing on modifying /etc/pam.d/vmware-authd but i keep getting an Operation Not Allowed.  This is v5

I've searched the net, but haven't found anything yet.

Thanks,

Perhaps an idea would be to look at newer guides and try with Virtual Center before trying with CLI.

Some KBs which might help you http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102197...

Active directory should behave same as in esxi 4.1

One of the blogs that I found easy to follow.

Thanks.  I guess it's been awhile, but for some reason, I thought I had to do this through command line.
