I created a "server" out of a bunch of spare parts from upgrading my home PC to make a home lab. I have ESXI running on it. I recently swapped the motherboards of the machine running ESXI and my home PC. Every other component has stayed the same.
Now i cannot connect to it using a web browser on my home PC. If i plug my laptop into the same ethernet cable my home pc is using, it . comes right up. Im using the ethernet NICs that are built into the motherboards. Is it confused because the MAC addresses swapped?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
You want to say that works only direct connection to ESXi. Via switch not?
Check once again your IP addressing. Somewhere is a misconfiguration.
Not sure, but maybe https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1031111 can help.

I have my home PC and the ESXI machine hardwired into the same switch. If I take the connection from my home pc, and plug it into my laptop, I can find and ping the ESXI machine. If I take that same connection and plug it back into my home pc, I can no longer ping the ESXI machine.
Home PC IP Address: 10.0.0.221
ESXI Machine IP Address: 10.0.0.132
Laptop IP Address: 10.0.0.61
My home network is very basic.
Check the subnet mask. and switch IP.
