Cannot Disable SR-IOV no matter how many times I toggle it...

What is going on here...

I admit I had just started to play with SR-IOV for the first tie on a new HP server I had.

My server has 8 physical NICs.

(1 Broadcom Quad Port card  &  4 Intel ports on the motherboard)

I toggled SR-IOV on all the ports that it allowed, only to see all but ONE physical NIC disappear when I rebooted.

Well, I wasn't prepared to deal with that, so I went back and toggled SR-IOV back OFF and rebooted.

Upon reboot, I found all my Broadcom NICs again, but the Intel NICs were still missing.

So I went back and found that SR-IOV was still enabled/active.

I toggled it off and rebooted AGAIN.

No dice.

I cannot disable SR-IOV on the Intel NiCs on the motherboard.

Since it was a new install, and I had work to do with the server, I had to re-install it - which I am doing while I type this.

So, what was THAT all about?!

Have you confirmed that the hardware is supported for SR-IOV with the ESXi version and is enabled at a hardware level?

Why would the web interface allow me to enable it if it wasn't capable?

I didn't force it or anything.

Once card allowed the toggle as expected, but the other offboard Broadcomm would turn on, but not off.
