A server was setup with ESXi 8.0 and with vCenter 8.0. Datastores were setup on the server. Those all work fine. Then a new Synology RS3621xs+ was added for backup and data storage. Synology 25G NIC cards were added to each piece of hardware and set for Link Aggregation Group, and then direct connected to each other. Using a 1G connection between both bare metal devices, iSCSI and datastores were setup. We could see they were successfully established. When trying to connect over 25G LAG NICs, we can't see anything and cannot communicate. We have tried to redo vSwitch setup in VMware, but nothing is working. We are trying to limit this connection to one guest server connecting to the datastores on the Synology NAS. Not having any luck.
We have a second server with ESXi 8.0. It has a 10G NIC card. The first server also has a matching 10G NIC card. We did not use LAG on this connection. A 1G network connection works fine, but 10G is not. The 10G cards are directly connected. We are trying to also limit this connection to same one guest server on first server, but configure connection to only support traffic originating on first server and ignore the rest. So far nothing is working. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
