Can't do the ping test with assign a SR-IOV VF to a window 2008 guest OS.

Hello,

I'm very confused on below issue:

when i using a guest os window 2008, can't do the ping test with a pc.

But if i using a linux guest os, it's working .

NIC: x540-at2

ESXI:5.5 u2

Steps:

1. install ESXI.

2. Create VFs and Create guest OS .

3. Assign to Guest OS.

4. install driver to the Guest OS windows 2008.

5. Do the ping test with a pc.                <============Problem

Maybe need some configuration on the guest os or ESXI ?

or maybe this is a vmware limitation?

No, i didn't have a 2008r2 sp2.

Why you ask 2008r2 sp2?

Update intel ixgbe driver to 3.21.4 on ESX host and try ..

Thanks every one.

I found why can't do the ping test , the ixgbe nic driver for the windows guest is not work.

The ixgbe 3.7.14 with the Guest OS window driver not work.

After update and load latest version driver, this issue is fixed.
