Can't connect to nfs share after power failure

Hello,

I was just finishing building my new host and about to move to a shelf that has a UPS support but waited too long.  We had a power lost a few nights and now I can't connect to the nfs share.  The VMS become italic and a line across. I unmounted the NFS and recreated but kept on getting this error:

Call "HostDatastoreSystem.CreateNasDatastore" for object "ha-datastoresystem" on ESXi "192.168.X.X" failed.NFS mount 192.168.X.X:/mnt/part2/nfs_vmware failed: Unable to connect to NFS server.

Any ideas how I can fix this.  It is version 5.1 build 1065491.

TT

I will try this tonight:

I see two entries on the error:

  • Firewall configuration has changed. Operation
'removeIP4' for rule set nfsClient succeeded.

    vmhost2.test.net

Firewall configuration has changed. Operation

'addIP4' for rule set nfsClient succeeded.

Call "HostDatastoreSystem.CreateNasDatastore" for object "ha-datastoresystem" on ESXi "192.168.X.X" failed.NFS mount 192.168.X.X:/mnt/part2/nfs_vmware failed: Unable to connect to NFS server.

Are you able to ping the nfs server from the ESX box.?

Try to unmount and remove the exisiting disconnected NFS share and check for vmkernel log while adding the nfs share again
