Can´t change/display network adapter configuration on HP Blades BL685c G7

We have a problem when we try to edit the properties of a network adapter. We can´t change the network speed configuration. It appears as empty...

We only realized this erro in: HP Blades BL685c G7 with Esxi 4.1 Update 3 Patch 8 (Build Number 1050704)

The rest of the platform edit the network adapter perfectly.

I upload an image.

Thanks.

As a workaround - you could try the command line

http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004089

For this issue, are all servers with the current ESXi patch levels having an issue? Conversely, is there any host that is having the same ESX build and same hardware that does not have this issue?

My problem happends since I´ve installed Patch 8 in my servers, but ONLY in HP Blades BL685c G7.

I have many other servers with Esxi 4.1 Update 3 Patch 8 (Build Number 1050704) and NO problem at all!!!

Thanks.

This should help

http://www.wooditwork.com/2012/05/02/new-hp-g7-blade-emulex-be2net-driver-for-esxi-4-x/

Essentially, just upgrade the drivers and firmware to the latest versions and check, though I realise the NIC you are using is an NC551ix series

I´ve been reading your link... But is not esxactly the same version:

I have "be2net device firmware 4.1.450.7". The link explains a problemswith "be2net device firmware 4.1.334.0"

How can i install the last version of Emulex be2net drivers for ESXi 4.1? I have only found the last version for ESXi 5.0.

Thanks.

Check with Emulex for both firmware and drivers as ones on the VMware page might not be the latest versions

4.1 drivers are here

If this is consistently seen even after upgrading the drivers and firmware, next step would be to involve support - especially if the issue is with a specific ESX patch level. Could be a defect for all we know!
